Real Madrid icon Guti has retired from playing in Europe.
The 35-year-old midfielder parted company with Turkish outfit Besiktas recently after barely featuring for the Istanbul side.
He had been linked with a reunion with former team-mate and close friend Raul at Schalke, but has opted against this.
"I’ve finished. I’ve stopped playing", said Guti.
The Spaniard did hold the door open for some sort of experience outside Europe though, stressing he was keen to discover new cultures.
"I want to point out that I’m not going to play in Spain or Europe.
"But there is an opportunity to continue in some Asian country, this is what I want.
"I want to live in Asia and learn about other cultures."
