Arsenal are thought to have offered Thierry Henry a two-month loan deal.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has publicly discussed the possibility of bringing the striker back to the Emirates Stadium for a short stint as he looks to cover the loss of Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho to the African Cup of Nations.

Henry has been training with Arsenal recently to keep in shape given that his MLS side New York Red Bulls are on their off-season break.

Speculation soon grew though that Wenger could urge Henry to answer a striking SOS – and now the former France star will have the opportunity.

If Henry chooses to accept, he could be ready to kick of 2012 with Arsenal and feature in the Champions League against AC Milan along with the clash against Manchester United in January.

The striker played for the Gunners for eight years before leaving in 2007 and is considered a legend at the club.
