Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta has reiterated that he expects Chelsea to speak to the French giants if they want to sign him, but feels a move to a "great club" could boost his international chances.

Azpilicueta has been consistently linked with the Blues and news of Andre Villas-Boas’ interest has reached his ears before.

However, in recent days the transfer chatter has reached fever pitch, with Chelsea thought ready to pay €15M for the Spaniard’s services.

Azpilicueta though has confirmed he has yet to receive concrete contact from the Premier League giants.

"For me these are just rumours, there has been no contact", said the 22-year-old.

"I’m bound to Marseille until 2014 and if Chelsea want me then they need to speak to Marseille."

The defender did concede though that moving might boost his international prospects.

"It is true that it’s harder to hold down a place in the national team if you don’t play at a great club.

"You have to be at Real Madrid or Barcelona. But I do feel well at Marseille."
