Manchester City are eyeing Ivory Coast defensive midfielder Jean-Jacques Gosso.

The 29-year-old currently turns out for Orduspor and, according to Turkish daily Hurriyet, has come to the attention of the Citizens, who have been impressed with his displays for Hector Cuper’s side this season.

Gosso only joined Orduspor last summer after departing French giants Monaco, following the principality club’s relegation from Ligue 1 to Ligue 2.

The Ivorian has quickly settled into Turkish football, clocking up 19 appearances in the country’s top flight so far and attracting admiring glances from Orduspor’s rivals.

Gosso, who is also able to play as a full back if needed, is thought to be under serious consideration at Eastlands as Roberto Mancini looks to beef up his midfield options, with the Italian particularly looking to ensure cover for Yaya Toure.

The Orduspor star would undoubtedly jump at the chance to join his countryman in England and Gosso has shown a genuine ability to adapt quickly to new surroundings throughout his career.

Indeed, the Ivorian has turned out in his native Ivory Coast, Morocco, Israel, France and now Turkey.

The midfield schemer is under contract with Orduspor until 2014.
