Holland star Dirk Kuyt has expressed his disappointment at playing no part in Liverpool’s 2-1 FA Cup semi-final victory over Everton on Saturday.

The Dutchman was an unused substitute at Wembley and well admits that he hoped to play a part in the Reds’ success.

Nevertheless, Kuyt is still delighted to see Liverpool progress and now holds out hope of being involved in the final against Chelsea next month.

"I am proud that after the Champions League final and the final of the Carling Cup, for a third time I’m with Liverpool in a final", Kuyt told De Telegraaf.

"But, it is a disappointment that I did not play", he added.

"I expected to be ready to come on and if that happens you want to be the first player to be brought on. But that was not to be."

And the Dutchman, whose future at Anfield is in some doubt with much speculation over an exit in the summer swirling around, is ready to do all he can to help Liverpool win the cup.

"I will do everything to ensure that I prove my worth in the third final with a goal."
