The agent of Inter striker Luc Castaignos has stated his belief that his client may well have to leave the Nerazzurri for regular first team football next season.

Castaignos was linked with a loan switch away from Inter during the January transfer window, with Liverpool amongst the clubs coming close to to tempting the 19-year-old away from Italy.

But in the end the Dutchman, as he told Inside Futbol in an exclusive interview last month, came to the conclusion that remaining at Inter was the sensible decision.

The former Feyenoord man’s position has not improved though and his chances of game time at the San Siro next year look limited.

This has led to Liverpool preparing to rekindle their interest in the forward, while now Castaignos’ agent has come out in support of a switch in search of more playing minutes.

"For Luc, it is important that next season he gets a lot of games", Arie Treffers told NUsport.

"At Inter, the chances are not great", he added.

"When he came to the club they said they wanted to rejuvenate the team, but the average age of the core group is now more than 30."

Whether Castaignos will heed his agent’s advice remains to be seen, as the Dutchman has had his heart set on establishing himself with the Nerazzurri.
