Liverpool may be in Premier League action tomorrow afternoon against Norwich City, but manager Kenny Dalglish still found the time to make a trip to France last night.

Dalglish was in the crowd as Ligue 1 leaders Montpellier visited Toulouse, emerging with a valuable 1-0 victory which boosts their title hopes.

The Reds boss is believed to have been watching all-action Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko, a player Liverpool have a long standing interest in.

Dalglish appears to have taken on extra responsibility for identifying transfer targets for the summer after the departure of director of football Damien Comolli earlier this month, and a swoop for the 21-year-old Sissoko would not be unexpected.

The Liverpool boss though was not the only man on a talent spotting mission at the Stade Municipal.

Also in attendance were Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi and Bayern Munich general manager Christian Nerlinger.

The Gunners are thought to hold an interest in Montpellier captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and his team-mate and top marksman Olivier Giroud.

The France striker is a man in demand and is thought to have been the primary purpose of Nerlinger’s scouting trip to France.
