Romelu Lukaku’s agent has rubbished speculation that his client could join Werder Bremen on loan for next season as part of the Marko Marin deal.

The Belgian striker’s club, Chelsea, have just secured the signature of Marin for next season, for a fee of between €6M and €8M, and it was quickly suggested that the Bundesliga outfit would receive Lukaku on loan as a sweetener for the deal.

Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs did confirm that a Chelsea player could arrive on loan, but ruled out that man being Lukaku.

And now the former Anderlecht striker’s agent has added his voice to Allofs’, rubbishing the speculation.

"This is nonsense", Lukaku’s agent Christophe Henrotay told RTBF.

"There is absolutely nothing in it. Nothing will be decided before June on the future of Romelu", he added.

"Chelsea are committed to finding a solution for next season. He’ll stay at Chelsea or he will be loaned. Whatever happens, he will play."

Several clubs are prepared to take the Belgium international on loan, including Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg.

It seems clear though that the new permanent manager of Chelsea will in the end decide whether Lukaku should stay put or spend time elsewhere.
