Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on RKC Waalwijk goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet, who is on loan at the club from Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven.

Harry Redknapp’s men sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action for RKC Waalwijk against NEC Nijmegen yesterday, according to sources in Holland, a game which ended as a 1-1 draw.

Spurs are on the lookout for a promising goalkeeper to add to their ranks in the summer and, given the success of Dutchmen Tim Krul (Newcastle United) and Michel Vorm (Swansea City), have focused their eyes on Holland.

That the White Hart Lane outfit are monitoring Zoet should not be a surprise given the 21-year-old’s growing reputation in the Eredivisie.

Zoet’s has been tipped for big things and the young shot-stopper is a veteran of Holland’s youth teams, having appeared at the Under-17 European Championship as his side’s captain, the Under-19 European Championship, while he is now first choice with Holland’s Under-21 crop.

And this season, so fine have Zoet’s performances been with RKC Waalwijk, he has even been tipped as an outside contender to make Bert van Marwijk’s Euro 2012 squad.

PSV Eindhoven will no doubt be keen to keep hold of the glovesman, but Zoet will have noted the success Krul and Vorm have enjoyed in England and, with Andreas Isaksson and Przemyslaw Tyton established at the Philips Stadion, may fancy a switch to Spurs if the Premier League team make their interest concrete.
