Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo believes that the fact the club have an abundance of money to spend in the summer transfer market is making doing deals difficult.

The French giants had seemed set to sign Brazilian defender Thiago Silva from AC Milan for €46M, but at the last minute the Rossoneri declared that they valued the stopper at €65M.

That was a sum that PSG were not willing to pay and so negotiations ended.

But Silva is also not the only player transfer PSG have pulled the plug on. Indeed, Carlos Tevez looked ready to land at the Parc des Prince in the January transfer window, but PSG found the Argentine’s personal terms excessive.

And so, despite having much money to spend, PSG do have self-imposed limits.

"Everyone says that we have a lot of money, so it makes for often very difficult negotiations", Leonardo told Le Parisien.

"It’s not a question of paying too much. But we have limits, as with Tevez and Thiago Silva."
