Sources in Holland have indicated that Werder Bremen have agreed a deal to sign Dutch winger Eljero Elia from Juventus.

Elia has developed into a forgotten man in Turin after joining the Italian champions from Hamburg last summer.

The 25-year-old was frozen out to such an extent that he had little chance of booking a spot in Holland’s Euro 2012 squad, something that was a deep cause of disappointment for the speedy winger.

Now Elia is heading back to the Bundesliga in search of happier times, with Werder Bremen having agreed to pay Juventus some €6.5M for his services.

The agreement of personal terms with the Dutchman should not prove to be a problem, with Elia keen to end his Juventus nightmare.

The winger will be looking forward to more playing time in Germany and with it the opportunity to break into Louis van Gaal’s Holland squad.
