Despite much speculation surrounding the future of wantaway Lille right-back Mathieu Debuchy, the French club’s sporting director has insisted that at present there are no proposals on the table for the player.

Debuchy has been persistently linked with English Premier League outfit Newcastle United and the Magpies did have a bid for his services rejected earlier this summer.

The France international has also been under consideration by Italian giants Inter, and has seen his stock rise dramatically over the last 18 months.

Lille have been consistent in their view that they would like the 27-year-old to remain at the club, although Debuchy has been vocal in his desire to leave for a new challenge.

And the Ligue 1 outfit will allow him to go, but only once an adequate replacement has been signed.

The latest news on Debuchy’s situation though is surprising, with Lille sporting director Frederic Paquet insisting no offer is on the table.

“At the moment, there is no longer any proposal there for the player”, said the French side’s transfer supremo to La Voix du Nord.

Debuchy is a product of Lille’s youth system – he is under contract at the club until 2015.
