Brazilian side Sao Paulo have insisted that they are not aware of interest from Manchester City in starlet Lucas Moura.

The 19-year-old midfielder is one of the hottest properties in the summer football transfer window and has been the subject of a bid from the Citizens' rivals Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that the Red Devils want Moura, but Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini does not look set to join the chase, despite speculation to the contrary.

"Interest from Manchester City? We've not been informed about it", said Sao Paulo director Adalberto Baptista.

"We have also had no contact with the club.

"If clubs contact us then we refer them to the release clause of €70M."

Baptista also expressed some surprise at reports from Italy that Serie A giants Inter have submitted a bid of €25M for Moura, especially when a figure of €32M from Manchester United has already been turned down.

"Inter have not made an official bid for Lucas", said the director.

"And anyway, €25M is not enough when we have already rejected a bid of €32M."

Moura is currently playing with Brazil at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
