Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Japanese winger Ryo Miyaichi on a one-year deal from Arsenal.

Miyaichi is the Latics’ third signing this summer after having already signed Fraser Fyvie from Aberdeen and Ivan Ramis from Real Mallorca.

The 19-year-old featured in all pre-season games for the Gunners this summer and it seems that Arsene Wenger has decided that a loan spell at a Premier League side will prove to be beneficial for him.

Miyaichi joins Wigan fresh off having completed a six-month loan spell with Bolton Wanderers last season.

The Japanese starlet is thought of highly by the Arsenal management and Wenger will be looking forward to seeing him develop his game while playing at the D.W. Stadium.

Miyaichi joined the Gunners in 2011 after impressing the French manager while on trial in 2010. He was instantly loaned to Dutch side Feyenoord after completing his move to the Emirates outfit in January. The youngster featured regularly for the Dutch giants scoring three goals in 12 appearances.

He then returned to the North London club at the start of the 2011/12 season and after several League Cup appearances for the Gunners, moved to Bolton in January. He played 12 games for Owen Coyle’s men and produced impressive performances throughout.

The Arsenal faithful will be hoping that the Japanese starlet can get the game time he needs at the Latics before returning as a polished winger at the start of the 2013/14 season at the Emirates.
