Chelsea’s €40M summer signing Eden Hazard would even play for the club at left-back, so eager is he to turn out for the Champions League winners.

The forward has landed at Stamford Bridge as a recipient of the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award for two successive seasons due to his heroics with Lille.

Hazard is also rated as one of the brightest prospects in world football and Chelsea beat a number of clubs to his signature.

But the 21-year-old is not carrying a large ego and just wants to play for Roberto Di Matteo’s men.

“I just got here and the only thing I care about is playing. In any position”, the Belgian international told L’Equipe.

“I would even be ready to play left-back.

“There is a lot of talent in this team. There is a lot of competition. This is the top level.”

Hazard will no doubt be a key player for Di Matteo’s Blues this season as the Italian attempts to ensure his side are firmly involved in the Premier League title race.

Chelsea also have the not so small matter of defending the Champions League they memorably won last May on the agenda.
