Arsenal legend Robert Pires has claimed that Santi Cazorla has found his perfect match in the Gunners, and will prove to be a quality signing for the North London outfit.

The former French international insists that the Spanish winger is a great signing by Arsene Wenger as the Spain international is technically gifted and has experience of playing at the highest level.

“The way the team plays will suit him perfectly and he is the kind of player Arsene loves too", Pires told Arsenal Magazine.

"He is a very exciting player, very gifted technically with both feet. He has an impressive creative touch and he can play in the centre or on the wings”, he added.

Pires, who left the Gunners in 2006 for Villarreal, played alongside Cazorla for three seasons from 2007 to 2010 and knows all about the Spaniard’s quick movement and passing ability.

“His vision and the quality of his passing is brilliant, but he can also take people on.

"Despite still being quite young, he has a lot of experience with the Spanish national team and has also played in the Champions League."

The 38-year-old admitted that Cazorla had contacted him after the Gunners made a move and added that he told the Spaniard that the Emirates would suit his skills.

“Santi called me when the offer from the club arrived and I told him that it was the perfect club for him.”

Pires also remains convinced that Cazorla will not take a lot of time to settle and will prove to be a great signing for Arsenal.

“Finally, he has a very good mentality and is a real team player.

"He will need a bit of time to settle but I’m convinced he will adapt very quickly and will be a great signing for Arsenal”, said the former Arsenal great.
