English giants Arsenal are interested in Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, with manager Arsene Wenger pondering a €15M move for the Spaniard.

Wenger has been an admirer of the Spanish international for several years, but the player’s loyalty has so far always prevented him from moving away from Sevilla.

However, it seems that the French tactician is now more eager than ever to snap up the 26-year-old from the Red-Whites after losing two of his key players, Robin van Persie and Alex Song, this summer.

According to Spanish daily AS, the Gunners are ready to splash their recently accumulated cash from this summer’s transfers and start with a €15M offer for Navas, to test the water.

It is also believed that Wenger has renewed his interest in the Spanish winger on the suggestion of new arrival Santi Cazorla, who has encouraged the Frenchman to add another creative outlet to his line-up by snapping up Navas.

The right-footed winger belongs to the rare breed of footballers who have played their entire career at a single club.

Navas has made 350 appearances for Sevilla, while the appearances record for the Spanish outfit lies with Pablo Blanco, who made 410 appearances for the club.

With a number of years of football ahead of him, the 26-year-old Spanish international could surpass Blanco’s record unless he decides to move away from the Red-Whites this summer.

Navas still has three years remaining on his current deal.
