Lille right-back Mathieu Debuchy has admitted that the French giants will badly miss Eden Hazard this season, as the 21-year-old could win a game on his own.

Hazard was sold to Chelsea earlier this summer for €40M after keeping hold of the Belgian proved impossible for Rudi Garcia’s men.

The forward inspired Lille to the 2010/11 Ligue 1 title and also helped the club secure a Champions League qualifying spot last year.

Crowned Ligue 1 Player of the Year for two successive seasons, replacing Hazard was always going to be close to impossible for Lille – a fact Debuchy accepts, despite the club having brought in Salomon Kalou and Marvin Martin.

"Lille weaker without Hazard? I don’t know, however it is certain that Eden could win a game all by himself. He could win a game at any time", Debuchy told French radio station RMC.

"It will be a big gap, but the arrivals of Kalou and Martin are very positive.

"They will give us something different, but certainly the level of play that Eden brought us, we will miss it."
