English Premier League side Fulham have had a bid of €9M accepted by Lyon for Michel Bastos, according to Le Parisien.

Bastos has been repeatedly linked with a departure from the Stade Gerland over the last year and came close to signing for Juventus last summer.

More recently he was on the verge of signing for Middle Eastern side Al Ain, but the proposed move dragged on with no sign of completion.

Now Bastos could play his football in England this season if there are no hiccups.

Lyon have been on a cost cutting drive this summer, with funding a new stadium and a lack of Champions League football making an impact on the club’s finances.

Left-back Aly Cissokho has been sold, while Hugo Lloris is expected to join Tottenham Hotspur today.

The departure of Bastos would be a blow to coach Remi Garde, but not an entirely unexpected one given the Brazilian has been on the verge of leaving Les Gones for some time.
