Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony is furious with his club Vitesse for blocking a move to English Premier League side Aston Villa.

According to Bony and his agent Francis Kacou, a loan switch to Aston Villa, with the English club holding a purchase option, had been agreed, but at the last minute Vitesse demanded nothing less than a sale.

Now Bony is angry at Vitesse, though there is still time in the transfer window for further developments to send 23-year-old heading over to Villa Park.

For now though, the Ivory Coast international is extremely unhappy.

"This club makes me completely crazy", Bony told Dutch daily De Telegraaf.

"They have, on Thursday, stopped a move to Aston Villa", he added.

And the player’s agent is equally angry with what he sees as a clear moving of the goalposts on the part of Vitesse.

"Wilfried is unhappy at Vitesse. He has reported for training today, because he is a professional", commented Kacou.

"Aston Villa wanted him for this season, a loan with an option to buy. For Vitesse, that would bring in nearly €10M.

"On Thursday morning Vitesse agreed. But then in the evening they said that there could only be discussions over a sale.

"We had everything planned and were ready to go to Birmingham. It is incredible."

Kacou further stated that, for the good of his client’s career, Bony must exit Vitesse for a bigger club.

"Wilfried must leave Vitesse", stressed the player’s representative.

"He is ready for a new challenge at a higher level. Otherwise he will lose his place in the national team."

Kacou also believes that trying to keep Bony is not a statement of ambition on the part of Vitesse, as the striker has naturally reached a level where he can learn no more at the Dutch side.

"This is to say Vitesse are ambitious, but I don’t see that.

"Wilfried is surrounded by bad players so he cannot continue to develop."
