Fatih Terim Keen On Galatasaray Kaka Swoop

Saturday, 8th September, 2012

Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim has admitted that he would love to sign Kaka, but financial issues mean the ball is squarely in the Brazilian’s court.

Kaka has been informed by Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho that he will only receive limited playing time this season and the midfielder was heavily linked with a switch away from the Bernabeu in the summer transfer window.

However, Real Madrid’s insistence on a fee of around €20M for the player scuppered any hope of a move to AC Milan, despite Kaka being willing to take a hefty cut on wages believed to be around the €10M per year mark in Spain.

As the transfer window came and went, Kaka admitted that the only reason he was still at Real Madrid is because no official offers arrived.

Now Terim, in charge of Galatasaray, has opened the door for Kaka to move to Turkey in future, but the player would have to take a substantial salary cut, while Real Madrid would most probably have to lower their demands too.

"Kaka is a player that I will always have an interest in because he is a great player", Terim, who coached Fiorentina and Milan in Serie A, told Italian daily Corriere dello Sport.

"Kaka would be a perfect player for Galatasaray and, indeed, I told my president just that. He believes the same and is looking at the signing."

But Terim is in no doubt that, for any move to happen, sacrifices must be made.

"He has a major contract. The last word is his."
