Atletico Madrid director Gil Marin has admitted that selling striker Radamel Falcao would solve all the club’s debt problems.

The Vicente Calderon outfit know that Falcao is a man in demand after he continued his goalscoring exploits of last season in the current campaign.

relatedNewsStoryAnd the Colombian’s breathtaking hat-trick in Atletico’s 4-1 UEFA Super Cup victory over Chelsea has raised the serious prospect that an interested club will activate Falcao’s release clause of €60M.

It is something which, Marin accepts, would at a stroke end the capital side’s debt problems.

"€60M would solve the financial concerns of Atletico", admitted Marin.

But, the Spaniard backed up his president Enrique Cerezo in stressing that it has been decided Falcao will not be sold in the January transfer window.

"However, I can say with certainty that Falcao will finish the season with us.

"The players and coaches at this club like him very much."

The Colombian has been a key man in Atletico’s hugely impressive start to the new La Liga season, which sees the club level on points with Barcelona at the top of the table.

For Marin, it is "nothing less than a miracle."
