Chelsea are continuing to track Marseille striker Loic Remy, one of the English side’s scouts has told French daily La Provence.

Remy has so far had a season to forget at the Stade Velodrome, managing not a single goal so far in seven Ligue 1 appearances, though he did take time to ease into the campaign due to an injury niggle.

Even taking that into account though, and the 25-year-old’s two goals in five Europa League matches, he has still performed well below expectations.

But that has not put long-time suitors Chelsea off and the Champions League winners are still keeping watch on the France international’s situation on the south coast.

In fact, the Blues well understand Remy’s struggles, and in themselves they are not enough to cause them to lose interest.

"We know players are erratic by nature", the Chelsea scout was quoted as saying.

"But the potential is there, we know what he is capable of."

However, the Blues talent spotter did caution that the club are watching a whole host of players, not just Remy.

relatedNewsStory"Having said that, there is not any more interest in Loic than for other players.

"He is part of a large list, that’s all.

"He is not a priority.

"But, his bad phase is not something which has put us off."

The striker is under contract with Marseille until 2015.
