AC Milan striker Robinho has been in talks with former club Santos over a return to Brazil, the side’s coach Muricy Ramalho has confirmed.

The Rossoneri are mooted as being keen to move the 28-year-old on, due to his hefty salary of around €4M per year.

The former Real Madrid striker does also not appear to have found a place in coach Massimiliano Allegri’s plans for this season.

And with Santos interested, the forward could move back to his homeland in January, something the Brazilian side believe is a concrete possibility.

"We continue to talk with Robinho", admitted Ramalho.

"He is currently experiencing a less successful period and that can be an advantage for us.

"He receives little chance under coach Massimiliano Allegri too, so there is hope for us."

He has also played in the Champions League for the Rossoneri, but again off the bench with only one eleven minute stint to his name.

The 28-year-old is under contract with Milan until 2014.

Last season he only managed six goals in 28 Serie A games.
