Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes that Franck Ribery is to the German giants what Cristiano Ronaldo is to Real Madrid, Lionel Messi to Barcelona and Wayne Rooney to Manchester United.

Ribery is a key man at the Allianz Arena and Rummenigge has acknowledged that the Bavarians’ game does in large part depend upon the form of the enigmatic Frenchman.

But the Bayern Munich supremo sees nothing at all wrong with that and pointed to other clubs who he believes largely rely on the brilliance of a single player.

"Our game depends a great deal on Ribery", Rummenigge told German daily Bild.

"Just like Lionel Messi at Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid or Wayne Rooney at Manchester United.

"That is how it is.

"Every big club has key players on whom they are today dependent."

Without Ribery, Bayern Munich could only manage a 1-1 draw against Bavarian rivals Nurnberg in the Bundesliga at the weekend.

It is still less than clear whether the Frenchman will be fit for the club’s Champions League clash against Valencia this evening.
