Roma have been dealt a blow with the news that forward Erik Lamela is to spend three weeks on the sidelines.

Lamela received a knock to the ankle in the Giallorossi’s 2-0 victory over Torino on Monday evening in Serie A.

Now the Argentine, who has been diagnosed with a lesion to the external ligaments, will spend three weeks on the sidelines as he recovers.

The news will not be welcomed by coach Zdenek Zeman, especially as Lamela is the club’s top scorer in Serie A with eight goals to his name in 12 games.

Roma currently sit sixth in Serie A.

The Giallorossi have won six of their 13 games so far, drawing two and losing five.

They find themselves three points behind city rivals Lazio in the standings.
