Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has admitted feeling a certain temptation towards Arsenal, though insisted that the Gunners have not made a formal offer for his services.

The Senegal hitman’s future at St. James’ Park has continued to be unclear, with the existence of a £7.5M release clause in his contract, which Newcastle have yet been unable to successfully negotiate to remove.

Ba has been linked with a whole host of clubs, of which Arsenal are one, though Ba claims to have heard nothing about interest from Arsene Wenger’s men.

He did appear to leave the door open though if the Gunners do bid.

"I have nothing to say about the speculation", said the 27-year-old to Canal +, when asked about interest from Arsenal.

"Nothing has happened", he added.

"The press know Arsenal need another striker and they know about my release clause.

"They can make up their own mind about it.

"Arsenal are one of those sides that makes you dream."

Ba has bagged eleven goals for the Magpies so far this season and Newcastle remain desperate to remove his release clause before any clubs makes a move to activate it.

The striker has played in London before, when he turned out for West Ham for a brief spell in 2011.
