Liverpool are believed to be closing in on the signatures of both Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge and Blackpool winger Thomas Ince.

According to multiple sources in England, including national broadcaster the BBC, the Reds are confident of signing both Sturridge and Ince when the January transfer window opens.

Sturridge has struggled to make a major impact at Chelsea since joining the Stamford Bridge outfit in 2009 from Manchester City.

So far this season the striker has only made seven appearances for the Blues in the Premier League, finding the back of the net just once.

Liverpool are in desperate need of another striker, with Luis Suarez currently the only established goal-getter at the club.

Sturridge is expected to cost about £12M.

Ince meanwhile is a former Liverpool player and joined current club Blackpool from the Reds in the summer of 2011.

The winger has made good progress in the Championship and looks set to command a fee of around £6M.

Personal terms have not been agreed with either player, but Liverpool are hoping to act quickly to secure Sturridge and Ince.
