French goalkeeper Mickael Landreau has a decision to make over just where he will continue his career – and one of the shot-stopper’s options is Chelsea.

Landreau is a free agent after agreeing to terminate his contract at Lille on 6th December and now has a whole host of offers to sift through.

One of those, according to French sports daily L’Equipe, is from English giants Chelsea, who have offered the 33-year-old the opportunity to sign up as understudy to Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge.

However, Landreau is believed to want to break the record for the most number of games played in Ligue 1, currently held by Jean-Luc Ettori with 602 matches (Landreau has clocked up 568) and looks likely to remain in his homeland.

Options for the shot-stopper within France include Nancy, Bastia and Evian, all Ligue 1 clubs.

Landreau called time on his spell at Lille after a breakdown in relations with coach Rudi Garcia and, due to his large salary, the club were only too happy to agree to the mutual termination of his contract.

The goalkeeper, who has won eleven caps for France, has previously played for Nantes, where he started his career, and Paris Saint-Germain.
