A three-way battle is threatening to break out in Germany for Chelsea starlet Kevin De Bruyne, according to Belgian broadcaster RTBF.

The Belgian attacking midfielder is on a season-long loan at Werder Bremen and has taken the Bundesliga by storm, impressing talent spotters across German football.

At present he is due to return to Chelsea in the summer, when the Blues will make a decision on the baby-faced assassin’s future.

De Bruyne has given notice that he does not want to head back to Stamford Bridge to simply warm the bench in 2013/14 – and three Bundesliga clubs want De Bruyne’s services for next season.

The midfielder’s current side, Werder Bremen, would love to be able to call upon De Bruyne for a further season and look set to try to attempt to increase his loan spell.

Meanwhile, the sporting director who arranged the loan for Werder Bremen, Klaus Allofs, now works for Wolfsburg, and Allofs wants to snap De Bruyne up for the Wolves.

Elsewhere the trio of interested German clubs is made up by Schalke.

The Ruhr giants have been hugely impressed with De Bruyne and would love for him to load Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s goal gun next season.

It is not yet clear just what the future holds for De Bruyne – but it does appear to be bright.
