Saint-Etienne winger Banel Nicolita believes that he could be allowed to leave the French side to join English Premier League outfit Fulham.

The 27-year-old has been linked with Martin Jol’s men and is thought to be a target for the Cottagers during the current transfer window.

And Nicolita thinks Saint-Etienne may well allow him to leave, if the right offer arrives.

"I do not know anything about a possible transfer, but I do not see why I could not go", he told Dolce Sport, when asked about a possible move.

"I will discuss my situation with the coach and prepare for the best anyway, as I always have."

Fulham though would be an attractive destination for the Romanian, as he well admits.

"I would like to play in the Premier League, although I am happy where I am."

Nicolita joined Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2011 from Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest.

He has clocked up 34 caps for Romania.

What price Saint-Etienne might be looking for in order to sell Nicolita, who has a contract until July 2014, is unclear.
