QPR are ready to sell Stephane Mbia to Chelsea if they are successful in their pursuit of Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Chelsea are keen on Mbia and could well be allowed snap him up during the current transfer window.

While QPR boss Harry Redknapp rates the man the club bought from Marseille in the summer, space is needed on the Rs’ wage bill for new arrivals.

That could lead Redknapp to sacrifice Mbia, who in turn would bag a dream move to Chelsea.

Rennes midfielder M’Vila is a player Redknapp has admitted chasing during his time in charge of Tottenham Hotspur – and the former Spurs boss is desperate for the 22-year-old to land at Loftus Road.

The difficult part of convincing M’Vila looks to be all but done, with agreeing a fee with Rennes all that is needed, though until the deal is sealed, Redknapp will be cautious given the midfielder’s substantial army of suitors.
