Bordeaux are considering a move for West Ham forward Modibo Maiga as they look to replace Yoan Gouffran.
The Ligue 1 outfit sold Gouffran to Newcastle United yesterday and now need to bring in a striker to take his place.
And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Maiga is a player being considered by Bordeaux.
The striker is struggling to secure a starting spot at West Ham, having only started twice in the Premier League this season, though he has featured 14 times off the bench.
West Ham only snapped up Maiga during the summer, bringing the 25-year-old to England from France, where he had impressed with Sochaux.
Current Bordeaux coach Francis Gillot worked with Maiga during his time in charge of Sochaux and has remained a fan.
The Mali striker, who is currently at the African Cup of Nations with his country, is under contract at Upton Park until 2016.
