English Premier League side Everton are looking closely at Lyon defender Dejan Lovren, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Toffees are on the lookout for a new central defender to add to their ranks in the summer and have been making eyes at the Croatia international.

Lovren is highly rated at the Stade Gerland, but Lyon have been offloading talents to cut costs as the building of a new stadium takes priority.

And Everton could well make an offer for the 23-year-old.

The Toffees are not the only club keen on Lovren, with Barcelona and Liverpool having been linked with the player over the last 12 months.
