Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has blasted speculation that Chelsea are set to involve him in a deal to take striker Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid in the summer.

It has been suggested that Chelsea will offer Atletico Madrid the chance to make Courtois’ loan at the Vicente Calderon from Stamford Bridge permanent, with money also included, in order to snap up Colombia striker Falcao.

But the Belgian shot-stopper is sure that Chelsea do not want to lose him and rubbished the talk of a deal for Falcao involving himself coming off.

"The last thing Chelsea want to do is sell me", Courtois told Belgian broadcaster RTBF.

"The Blues have made it clear to me.

"Maybe they are not telling me the truth, but I don’t believe that.

"The whole story [of the Falcao exchange] is nonsense."

There seems little doubt that Falcao is on Chelsea’s shortlist as they prepare to boost their striking options in the summer.

But the Blues have long rated Courtois as the eventual successor for Petr Cech between the sticks, and despite the fact that Atletico Madrid would dearly love to turn his loan into a permanent transfer, Chelsea appear unlikely to play ball.
