FC Copenhagen starlet Andreas Cornelius has admitted that moving to the English Premier League would be something of a dream, although he feels he must still work hard to realise his ambition.

The 19-year-old striker has recently been linked with Sunderland and word of interest from the Black Cats has reached his ears. And while Cornelius is not sure just how true the transfer talk is, he is flattered by it.

"I think the Premier League is the world’s best league", he told bold.dk.

"It would be a dream come true if I can play in England, but there are many things that I must succeed at before I can get there.

"It is very fun to hear the rumours, but I have not heard anything concrete myself. I have read a little bit, but so much is written that it is hard to relate to what is said."

With the young Danish hitman having made real progress over the last 12 months, it is likely that there could be considerable interest in the striker over the summer.

But Cornelius is in no rush to leave FC Copenhagen and his willingness to learn could indicate a longer term stay in the Danish capital.

"My contract with FC Copenhagen applies to the next four years, so that might be a good time frame", he said.

"But so many things can happen, so it’s hard to say about the future."

The 19-year-old currently sits top of the scoring charts for Denmark’s Superliga, with 14 goals to his name so far.

He also received international recognition last year and now has three senior caps with Denmark under his belt.
