Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has warned his team-mates not to think that they have already progressed to the quarter-finals despite their commanding lead over Celtic, pointing to his own experience in Istanbul in 2005.

Pirlo was in the starting line-up in that clash, when his former club AC Milan raced into a 3-0 lead against Liverpool in the Champions League final.

By half-time it looked to be a case of how many Milan would score, but Liverpool came roaring out in the second period, scoring three goals of their own to take the clash into extra-time.

Then the Reds completed a remarkable comeback by winning on penalties.

The event scarred Pirlo, who is now always wary about so called commanding leads.

"I can’t forget the game against Liverpool", he told reporters.

And Pirlo thinks that if Juventus did blow their 3-0 first leg lead over Celtic it would be a huge disaster for the Bianconeri.

"We respect the opposition, but if we fail in Turin and do not progress, well, that would be one of the biggest setbacks in the history of this club."
