Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu feels that whoever progresses to the quarter-finals out of his team or Borussia Dortmund will most certainly reach the Champions League final.

Lucescu’s men and Dortmund meet this evening, with the first leg having finished 2-2, leaving the German side holding the slight advantage of away goals.

Yet despite the clash only being a last 16 match, the Shakhtar Donetsk coach feels the winners will almost certainly progress to the final.

"In the first leg they benefited from our mistakes", the Romanian explained to reporters.

"The team that wins on Tuesday will, undoubtedly, continue to the final of the Champions League", he added.

Shakhtar Donetsk only returned to competitive league action at the weekend, with the Ukrainian Premier League resuming after its winter break.

For Dortmund, the Champions League is their last realistic chance of silverware, having been knocked out of the German Cup by Bayern Munich, while they are also 17 points behind the Bavarians in the Bundesliga.
