Heerenveen forward Alfred Finnbogason admits he knows he is a man in demand, with English Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Everton and West Ham all having been linked with making a move for his services.

The Iceland international was strongly mooted as a target for sides in the January transfer window, but Finnbogason is clear that such a thing would not have happened in any case, with the focus being very much on finishing the season at Heerenveen.

"For me, a departure in the winter was never a concrete possibility", the 24-year-old explained to Voetbal International.

"This is my first season at Heerenveen and I want to finish it well", he added.

Finnbogason is not under any illusions though that he is a wanted man and the Iceland star is well aware there are a number of clubs who would like to snap him up.

"I know that clubs follow me", he said, "but I am watching to see how concrete it really is, then I’ll think it over."

Heerenveen are adamant that they have not received any offers yet for Finnbogason and would like to keep hold of the forward.

Finnbogason only landed at the Eredivisie outfit last summer, moving from Belgian side Lokeren on a three-year contract.
