QPR boss Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is interested in Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue and could launch a swoop if the Rs can survive in the English Premier League.

Redknapp is currently leading QPR in a battle against the drop and has seen his men put together back-to-back wins recently, which have offered them hope.

QPR’s survival bid has been boosted by French striker Loic Remy, who was snapped up in January. Redknapp also tried to buy Yann M’Vila from Rennes, but lost out to Rubin Kazan. Nevertheless, he remains a big fan of the French market.

And Capoue has registered on his radar.

"More French players at QPR? I wanted M’Vila, but it wasn’t possible", Redknapp told French radio station RMC.

"I like Capoue. He’s a player who has good vision of the game and he is interesting.

"If we stay up, why not?

"We’ve got someone from our club in France and we’ve got a strong relationship with this league."

Redknapp is unlikely to have things all his own way bidding to sign Capoue though, with the 24-year-old also having been linked with Bayern Munich and Everton, amongst others.
