Billionaire Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev has approached some of the biggest names in world football about a move to the principality club for next season, according to French magazine Le 10 Sport.

Rybolovlev’s wealth is powering a revolution on the south coast of France and the Russian is determined to make Monaco part of Europe’s elite conversation once again; the club are poised to win promotion back to Ligue 1 this season, something long overdue for a side that were Champions League finalists less than ten years ago.

And the Russian has shown his ambition on the transfer front.

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney, Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, Atletico Madrid goal-getter Radamel Falcao, Brazilian sensation Neymar and Napoli’s prolific marksman Edinson Cavani have all been sounded out about moving to the Stade Louis II.

On his domestic list are Saint-Etienne duo Stephane Ruffier, a former Monaco custodian, and Gabon hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Currently coached by former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri, Monaco presently sit top of Ligue 2, four points clear of Nantes.
