Liverpool youth player Jordon Ibe has reminisced about the day he transferred from Wycombe Wanderers to Liverpool, saying that his "first big move" left him "not knowing what to say".

The 17-year-old starlet was on the bench during Liverpool’s trip to Southampton last month, after impressive runs in the club’s Under-18 and Under-21 matches. Ibe is also set to play a role in the club’s FA Youth Cup match against Chelsea this Friday.

"I had to think hard about the decision to move. I wasn’t stalling but moving to Liverpool is a big move", the youngster told Liverpool’s official site.

"I was still 15, soon to be 16, and so was caught in two minds about whether I should stay or go. The manager at Wycombe was asking if I was staying or going and I didn’t know what to say.

"Fortunately, my family have moved up with me and whenever I get time off I usually go down and spend time with my friends", Ibe continued.

Since then, the former Wycombe Wanderers man has settled in well at Anfield, gaining the thumbs-up from youth coach Alex Inglethorpe.

"At first, it was the training that was hardest to adapt to. Here, there is not a lot of time on the ball. It is one and two touch football, passing it around. But I have got used to it and enjoyed it."
