Italian Serie A club Catania have snapped up former Panathinaikos and Liverpool winger Sebastian Leto.

The 26-year-old has penned a three-year contract with Catania and the Italian side will hope to provide the perfect springboard for the Argentine to revive his career.

Leto rose to prominence in 2007, when purchased by English giants Liverpool.

The former Lanus man was then loaned to Greek Super League side Olympiacos for the 2008/09 campaign, before switching to arch-rivals Panathinaikos on a permanent deal the following season.

The winger has suffered from knee problems in recent months and his injury woes led to the mutual termination of his contract at Panathinaikos in January.

Leto won the Greek title in two successive seasons during his time in the country; once with Olympiacos and once with Panathinaikos.
