Real Madrid centre-forward Gonzalo Higuain could soon make a move to Turin as Serie A giants Juventus are ready to launch a swoop, but not for less than €25M, insist the Spanish giants.

The Argentine has found his season with Los Blancos hindered by injuries. Nevertheless, he has always been Jose Mourinho’s first-choice striker whenever he is match-fit. Indeed, he has made a total 39 appearances for the club this season, scoring 15 goals along the way.

But Higuain may soon leave Real Madrid. According to Spanish daily AS, Juventus’ director general and sports development CEO Giuseppe Marotta as well as sporting director Fabio Paratici met with FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti, a close confidante of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently.

During their meeting in Turin, which allegedly happened after the Bianconeri won their Serie A title in a 1-0 victory against Palermo last Sunday, Juventus expressed their desire to sign Higuain. Real Madrid replied that they could be willing to sell the striker, but only for a minimum price of €25M.

The price could have unsettled the Bianconeri hierarchy, but club manager Antonio Conte has made his point clear – buy Higuain or he consider his post at the club – with Paris-Saint Germain keeping tabs on the tactician’s situation.

Higuain’s contract with Real Madrid sees him tied at the Spanish capital until 2016, but the Argentine may not last that long at the Bernabeu.
