Newly-promoted English Premier League side Cardiff City are keen on Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis, who still has a year left on his contract at the Stade Gerland, according to French sports daily L’Equipe.

It is also thought that Cardiff have contacted the French club about the striker and the Welsh side’s Malaysian owner, Vincent Tan, is believed to have a transfer fund of €35M to spend in the summer.

Gomis, 27, has also been linked with Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.

The French goal-poacher has scored 16 times out of 35 Ligue 1 appearances with third-placed Lyon this season so far.
