Outgoing Bayern Munich head coach Jupp Heynckes has insisted that his side’s match against Borussia Monchengladbach this Saturday is not just an ordinary end-of-season game.

Bayern Munich have won the Bundesliga title in dominating fashion when they won the trophy with six games to spare. Currently, they are enjoying a 22-point lead over the rest of the German top flight and are also set to win the German Cup and the Champions League.

And while others would have opted to let their last league game slide, Heynckes has every intention of honouring their opponents by playing at full strength against Gladbach on Saturday.

"I grew up in Monchengladbach, this is my hometown, where I started my football career and moved into coaching – this is not a normal game for me", Heynckes told Die Welt.

The Bayern Munich boss also wants his side to finish above the maximum points mark. Indeed, should the Bavarian giants win against Gladbach at Borussia Park this Sunday, they will be the first club to finish above the 90-point mark in the history of the Bundesliga.

"I am currently fixed on the first place highest finish with Bayern. That would be huge", Heynckes said.
