Brazil legend Roberto Carlos looks all set for his first foray into football management, with Turkish Super Lig club Sivasspor close to finalising a deal for the Anzhi Makhachkala sporting director.

Carlos was part of Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning campaign in a career spanning 125 international caps and 11 goals, that was only bettered with a club tally of 257 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid and four league titles.

The left-back, who also boasts three Champions League triumphs with Real Madrid and two TFF Super Kupa titles in three years at Fenerbahce as part of his footballing CV, saw out his playing days at Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala since his move from Corinthians in early 2012.

His immense experience has not gone unnoticed by Sivasspor, placed 12th in the Super Lig, with president Mecnun Odyakmaz telling Turkish outlet the Ankara Haber: "We are engaged in serious discussions with Roberto Carlos.

"The interviews were positive and the transfer will become clear in the next two days."

Carlos' agent Ozkan Dogan expressed similar confidence when speaking to Turkish newspaper Milliyet, adding: "Roberto Carlos and Sivas have reached an agreement in principle. He will sign the contract on Tuesday or Wednesday."
