Chilean tactician Manuel Pellegrini has denied having penned a deal to take over at Manchester City.

Pellegrini has confirmed that he will leave current club Malaga this summer and he is widely expected to be announced as Roberto Mancini’s successor at Manchester City.

But while the former Real Madrid manager may eventually take the reins at the Citizens, he insists he has not signed a deal to do so just yet.

"I’ve already answered this question a great many times", said Pellegrini at a press conference.

"For now, I have not yet signed a contract.

"Wait until I finish my work with Malaga before asking me about my future."

Pellegrini steered Malaga to the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season, only exiting in controversial circumstances against runners-up Borussia Dortmund.

The Chilean will hope to do even better in the competition next season if, as expected, he takes over at Manchester City.
