Ligue 1 side Bordeaux are pondering a summer swoop for Bolton Wanderers striker David N’Gog, according to French daily Le Parisien.

Francis Gillot’s side managed a seventh place finish in the French top flight last season, but saw their attacking options weakened in January with the sale of Yoan Gouffran to Newcastle United.

Bordeaux could even lose Cheick Diabate this summer, despite the striker being under contract at the club until 2015.

And N’Gog is the name under consideration to boost the side’s attacking power; Gillot’s men only scored 40 goals in 38 Ligue 1 games in 2012/13.

The 24-year-old started his career at Paris Saint-Germain before leaving French shores to join Liverpool in 2008.

N’Gog spent three years at Anfield, switching to then-Premier League side Bolton for £4m in 2011.

He suffered the pain of relegation with the Trotters in 2012 and is now plying his trade for the side in the Championship.
