Brazil midfielder Paulinho has confirmed that he has received an offer from Tottenham Hotspur, but insists he will make no decision over joining the English club until after the Confederations Cup.

Spurs have been pushing to sign the Corinthians player, who has seen his agent in England talking to interested parties in recent days.

Tottenham, who want to conclude a deal for Paulinho quickly, have offered Corinthians a sum of €20m, which is the amount of the player’s buy-out clause.

Now the decision is Paulinho’s to make – but he will not make it yet.

"It is not complete", he was quoted as saying by UOL Esporte after Brazil’s Confederations Cup match against Italy.

"The proposal has come to Corinthians, but I have told my agent that when I finish here I will examine it, just as I did with Inter Milan before.

"The proposal came, but it does not matter right now whether I am happy or not. Once this is done I will analyse it and think about what to do.

"I will decide after the Confederations Cup because it is very difficult to deal with this now."
